Kristen DeBruycker’s Muay Thai journey started in 2006 at Hybrid Martial Arts Academy in Roanoke, Virginia. Kristen started learning under Tim Rumsfelt and instantly fell in love with Muay Thai. Kristen continued training in Muay Thai after moving to Northern Virginia at One Spirit Martial Arts.
There she had the opportunity to train with instructors and trainers from Thailand to help her really hone her skills. In 2008 Kristen competed in the first Full Rules Thai event in virginia, winning in the first round.
Kristen Started teaching the Kid’s Muay Thai class shorty after at One Spirit Martial arts. She continued to evolve her Muay Thai training under Kru Bryan Mossey to improve her boxing and clinch and to compete in MMA.
Kristen began running the Beginner’s Muay Thai class, really focusing on technique and form. Through her instructor she had the pleasure of meeting Ajarn Chai in 2012 and joining the WTBA. In August of 2013 she tested under Ajarn Chai for instructorship.
Kristen DeBruycker became the head Muay Thai instructor at Pedro Sauer HQ and started coaching fighters. In 2014 she coached and cornered her first WKA champion. She continued to develop and grow the program at Pedro Sauer HQ while also working to become a better instructor.
In January 2020 Kristen DeBruycker had the amazing opportunity to train in Thailand for 6 weeks. Kristen continues to teach, train, and coach Muay Thai and MMA. She currently trains people one on one and travels to do seminars.
