I am not an athletic person. Most of the athletic endeavors I’ve pursued in life, I’ve had to earn them through hard work. Here is a glimpse into my weekly training routine. I’ll post this along with my Weekly Teaching Recap once a week so you can see what I’m up to. Maybe this will give you some inspiration for your own training. See you on the mat!
Monday:
Simple and Sinister Protocol-
- 100 One Handed Kettlebell Swings at 24 kgs in under 5 minutes
- 10 Turkish Get Ups in under 10 minutes, did 4 at 24 kgs and 6 at 20 kgs,(You can watch video of my Turkish GetUp here IMG_1442.)
- 2 set of 5/5 Single Leg Deadlift at 16 kgs
BJJ Open Class-
- Head and Arm Chokes
- 5, 5 minute round of rolling
- 20 minutes of trapping free play
Tuesday:
Cardio and Climbing-
- Warmed up with 15 minutes of cardio on the elliptical keeping heart rate under 150 bpm
- 3 pull ups
- Top Roping a 5.8, 5.7, and a 5.8
Kali-
- Warmed up with single dagger drills
- Empty hand versus dagger to silat takedown (my favorite!)
Wednesday:
BJJ Private-
- Went through the entire Gracie Women’s Empowered Program
Lifting Session w/ Brian Wright-
- Warmed up with 3 sets of deadlifts
- 2 sets of 225 for 3
- 1 set of 245 for 3
- 3 sets of Pull-Ups Ladders 1-2-3, (You can watch video of my pull ups here, IMG_1406)
Thursday:
“Annie” ( Yes, I did a CrossFit workout…)
- 50-40-30-20-10 of Double Unders and Sit Ups
Fight Prep with Tony
- Held 6 rounds of Pads for Tony
- Did some sparring
Friday:
Rested..back so sore
Saturday:
Yard work at my parent’s house
Sunday:
Bouldering with Ben-
- Attempted V2s today…did go well
TSC Prep at Old Glory-
- Deadlift- working up to 85% for 2
- 135 for 5
- 185 for 5
- 215 for 5
- 225 for 3
- 255 for 2 (this is my 85% of my goal weight of 300 for the TSC)
- Pull-Up Ladder- 1-2-1 negative, 3x through
- Speed Snatches at 16kg
- as many as you can in 1 minute without putting it down, 4 times thought
- Left Hand- 20,17
- Right Hand- 25, 21
