Weekly Teaching/Training Recap: 2/26/17-3/5/17

Hello, all martial artists and wannabe ninjas. It’s Teaching/Training Tuesday! Sorry I haven’t posted in a bit. Got sick with whatever has been going around with the kids that are on the mat. One of the many perks of teaching kids for a living. It has been a while since I’ve had a fever because has been made strong from being surrounded by children and adults for the last 8 years but every once in a while the plague seems to find me. But enough about me…

Let’s talk about how awesome the Junior Jiu-Jitsu test went on Friday. I had the pleasure of promoting 6 children to yellow belt and one child to an orange bar. They all knocked it out of the park! I’m very proud of each and every one of them and I hope they all become future black belt one day.

Sunday:

  • TSC Pre @ Old Glory-

    • Deadlift- worked up to 5 sets of 1 rep at 80% (245 lb)
    • Pullups- 10 singles
    • Heavy Kettlebell Snatches-
      • 2 sets @ 20 kg- 15 L/ 15 R
      • 4 sets @ 24 kg- 7 L/ 11 R, 10 R/ 7 L

Monday:

    • Basic Elbow Combinations on the pads

  • Kid’s Jiu Jitsu-

    • Mounting from Crossbody (Arms Out)

  • Adult BJJ w/ Master Sauer-
    • Counter/ Reversal for the Neck Crank from Crossbody
    • Rolling
  • Single Stick Sparring w/ Cory for 30 minutes

 

Tuesday:

    • Speed Snatches 3 sets of as many as you can do unbroken @ 16 kg

    • Basic Sparring Combinations
  • Adult Muay Thai-
    • Thai 15 Count

  • Kali:
    • Worked with Paul on Advance Single Dagger work for about an hour
